GOOD NEWS, THEY’RE BACK
Grab your broomsticks, bubble wands, and ruby slippers, Wildcats! Cynthia Erivo and Ariana
Grande reprises their roles as Elphaba Thropp and Glinda Upland, respectively, in act two of the
cultural phenomenon that was Wicked (2024) in Wicked: For Good, coming to theatres
November 21st!
In the sequel, we will return to the land of Oz some time after the events of Defying Gravity,
following up with everyone we saw during the first movie’s ending. If you haven’t done a
rewatch of the last film, allow me to remind you where we left our cast of characters:
Boq (Ethan Slater) and Fiyero (Jonathon Bailey) were last seen in the middle of a hectic Shiz.
Nessarose (Marissa Bode) was dealing with the apparent treachery of her sister being
broadcast live across the land and the sudden death of their father.
We left a devastated Glinda being embraced and comforted by the true Wicked Witch in all of
Oz, Madam Morrible (Michelle Yeoh).
And of course, The Wicked Witch of the West had just rejected the approval and conditional
love she had craved for her entire life to save the rising oppression towards the animals, even if
It meant she would continue to be hated and feared by the residents of Oz.
For the uninitiated, you may ask: Who was that mysterious horse rider in the
opening scene? Where do Dorothy and her friends come into play? Will Elphaba and Glinda
make up before a particular bucket of water is thrown? All that and more will be explored in For
Good. Especially with the addition of two solos for Elphaba and Glinda, which were explicitly
made for this movie. I, for one, couldn’t be happier to hear more from Grande and Erivo.
Like most fans of the movie, I haven’t stopped trying to perfect the ending riff from the end of
Defying Gravity…much to the dismay of everyone around me.
Want to get those tickets early? This is a POP-U-LAR movie, Wildcats, so don’t delay! You can
visit wickedmovie.com/tickets to locate a theatre and see showtimes that best fit your
schedule. So if you care to find me on November 21st, follow that yellow brick road to the
closest theatre!
