2-3 Reasons why Reinhart is running for office/ Issues that he will tackle during his term:
1. “With my background in law enforcement, as you can imagine, Public Safety is another
priority of mine. I will ensure our law enforcement will have the necessary tools to keep
our public safe as well as the officers that perform that very function.”- M. Reinhart
2. Reinhart specializes in incarceration and the police force. He wants to start up job
trainings and create the first “Jail farm” in Volusia County. He would like to start a job
fair in the jails and get these individuals trained and hopefully employed. Barber,
cosmetology, and even virtual welding classes are just a few things Reinhart plans to do.
3. Recidivism rate (It refers to a person’s relapse into criminal behavior, often after the
person receives sanctions or undergoes intervention for a previous crime) Florida’s
recidivism rate is about 25.4% over three years.
Reinhart’s Biography:
Matthew Reinhart was born in Deland, Florida and currently resides in Daytona Beach with his
wife Stephaine. Reinhart attended Seminole County Community College where he studied
criminal justice and maintained a job at McDonalds. Matt and his wife share four grown
children, six grandchildren, and two small dogs. Reinhart is an active member of Crossroads
Church located in Daytona. Mr. Reinhart’s love for government and the desire to serve the
community in Volusia County is his motivation to represent District 2. Matt Reinhart will
continue to work tirelessly to ensure that he serves all the citizens of Volusia County with
integrity and transparency.
